Bringing Healing Art to Nurses & Staff during COVID-19

Nursing homes and rehabilitation centers, one of the primary modalities we work in, have been the hardest hit by the current COVID-19 outbreak. We are doing what we can to support the residents and staff from a safe distance.

The people who work in these facilities have a difficult job under the best circumstances. Currently, they are working harder than ever to protect and heal residents. We want to make them the focus of our work. In the past few weeks, D'vorah and Etja painted 100 portable, mini Healing Window Paintings on transparencies and delivered them to Hopkins Center--one each for everyone working there.

We are so grateful to the nurses and healthcare workers for doing everything they can to keep the vulnerable people in these facilities safe and healthy. While many stories of tragedy have come out of this pandemic, we have also heard miraculous stories of healing due to the tenacity of these workers.

Here is what some of the nurses and staff said as they received the paintings:

“The bird reminds me of a phoenix rising from the ashes. It’s a great analogy for how we will all rise from this afterwards."

"I love this beautiful rainbow and how the colors reflect. Its like even through these rainy times there's still that ray of sunshine shining through."

"This sunset helps me pretend I'm at the beach relaxing."

"This looks like the eye of God and how he's watching over all of us, and keeping us safe through these times."

"God bless you guys for making these. I really needed this today"
